Arguments. Not the same as colloquial

In an argument, we are seeking truth. After defining points, think “Why would anyone think differently?” Mention major points of the oppositoin to prove you are not ignorant of them and to prove you’re willing to address them. If you can’t beat a point, concede so. Explain why other points outweigh that particular point.

There are different types of claims: Fact; Value; Policy.

Types of Support: Reason; Evidence; Emotional Appeals

The Refutation or rebuttal, recognizes and argues agains the opposing view.pp
